Pop Goes the World Podcast: The New TV season is upon us

In Pop Goes The World’s very first podcast, our hosts of Vanessa, Nadya and Sigrid discuss the new TV shows that we are most excited to see for 2011-2012. For me it’s “Once Upon A Time”, Nadya singled out “Pan Am” as one of her new TV shows she wants to watch while Sigrid lists Zooey Deschanel’s “New Girl.” And since all three of us saw Sarah Michelle Gellar’s new CW show “Ringer”, we offer our opinion on this show.

About your hosts:

All three of us met while volunteering for Vancouver’s awesome annual Shakespeare festival Bard on the Beach. One day as we were on our break, we started talking about TV and found out we had a lot to say about TV shows past and present and other things pop culture. Hence this podcast was born.

Vanessa: I love all things pop culture and that includes TV, films and theatre. My favourite shows include Glee, Chuck, Smallville, Felicity, Veronica Mars, Pushing Daisies, Gilmore Girls, Battlestar Galactica, Everwood, Road to Avonlea, The Young Riders, The Muppet Show,. Masterpiece (formerly known as Masterpiece Theatre) and I could go on and on and on and on. Fave films include Star Wars trilogies (yes I said trilogies -I like the prequels), Harry Potter (all 8 films), Wallace and Gromit, Jane Eyre 2011 version, West Side Story, The Sounds of Music, and too many more to name. Nadya: In no particular order, Nadya is a outdoors junkie, grad student, daydreamer, problem solver, photographer, foodie, buffy addict, plant enthusiast, and theatre lover. Follow me on twitter: @nadyaogloff.

Sigrid: The arts are my passion – whether I’m watching, reading, or listening, for better or for worse, it’s always an experience for the mind and senses. I am a part-time blogger, English geek, Shakespeare nut, music snob, Anglophile, polyglot, Bayern München fan, Whovian, Top Gear (UK) enthusiast. Follow me on Twitter: starduster360
